    Still two twinges of regret from missing out on two good opportunities on Cs; one was just over $10,000 in about 1997, one about $12,000 a few years later. Wasn't really in the position to go for either but the way that they've gone way out of reach since then makes it all seem worse somehow.

But a few maybes: could be that it suffers by association with the (unfairly disparaged) 190E, could be that the rock-solid handling attitude isn't as marketable as the edgier M3, could be aftermarket promotion, could be image games, could be that it's all a mood thing and its time is still coming.

    Plus it's a complex minibeast with a rep for being painfully expensive to maintain (see also: 944). E30s are simplistic.

    Kind of an underappreciated gem right now. Have to keep that in mind.

    All of what you need, not so much of what you don't need. Should still be a lesson to those piling on the excesses today.
